Overview:
The UX Futures project explores upcoming user experiences through innovative technologies. The goal was to investigate real-world concepts, conduct extensive research on the topic, and develop a speculative prototype for the future.

This prototype tailors digital interactions to users' preferences and behavior, aiming to boost engagement while also addressing ethical and societal concerns, thus advancing the field of user experience design.
Our group was presented with "I will survive" life trend, centered on "Permacrisis." We categorized global crises into seven themes, and chose to focus on "Lifestyle & Health." Within this, I chose to explore "Increasing depression," aiming to understand its causes and explore solutions due to its widespread impact and lack of adequate support.
Signals & Trends
After scanning for many days, identifying signals related to depression and categorising them into the STEEPV mural, there were a few things that had a repeated occurrence. A lot of sources pointed to AI, Plants & Psychedelics being used to cure depression.
When it comes to AI, it’s happening in the present, but there are a lot of signals about the future treatments for depression. Psychedelics are also being used as a treatment, although it’s not legal in many countries, so this has an uncertain future.
